We are quickly approaching October, and as a preview, here are a couple opal rings done in a more unique way. First, a boulder opal set in sterling silver. Boulder opals have a exclusive fire of their own. The majority found in Australia, it contains a mix of opal and ironstone in a matrix or layered. Next, an Ethiopian opal set in 14kt white gold surrounded by diamonds and pink sapphires. Shown in two pictures, this Ethiopian opal is very translucent, yet exhibits a rainbow of fire. Both great options to enjoy opals in a different way!
